The Linked Data Lab (LD-Lab) of Vienna University of Technology is proud to report that Peter Wetz and colleagues received the Best Paper award at EnviroInfo 2014 conference in Oldenburg, Germany. Peter along with co-authors Tuan-Dat Trinh, Ba-Lam Do, Amin Anjomshoaa, Elmar Kiesling, A Min Tjoa took home the prize for “Towards an Environmental Information System for Semantic Stream Data”. You may find further details about this paper here.
The paper outlines the architecture of a web-based platform for managing workflows and dataflows of semantically enriched environmental data. To this end, the paper propose a widget-based framework to explore environmental data streams in an urban context. Prototypical examples of interconnected widgets, i.e., a mashup, are explained and discussed and an architecture for a platform is outlined.
